About

Why we started this.

Tired of “still available?” messages that go quiet the second you say yes? So were we.

Selling a car privately turns you into a part-time customer service rep for people who were never going to buy it. The ones who do want to meet always want to meet at your place, alone, with cash, and more than a few try to renegotiate standing in your driveway with the keys already in their hand. And the guy who swore he’d be there at six on the dot? That was four different guys, on four different evenings.

Trade it in instead and the math gets worse, not better: the number changes when you walk in, and it changes again after the sales manager wanders off to “check with somebody.”

DriveOffer exists to be the third option.

How we work

  • A person prices your car. Software gets us in the right neighborhood. Someone on the valuation team then looks at your trim, your options, and what comparable cars in your area have actually sold for before we send a number.
  • You decide on your own schedule. Requesting an offer takes about two minutes and commits you to nothing. Sit on it for a week if you want. We are not going to call you every morning about it.
  • We come to the car. Accept an offer and we schedule the pickup, handle the title paperwork, deal with your lender if there is a loan, and pay you before the car is loaded.

What we buy

Newer cars, tired cars, cars with 190,000 miles and a check-engine light, cars with a dent in the passenger door and eighteen months left on the note. Condition changes the number. It rarely changes whether we are interested.

Who actually answers the phone

We’re a small team, not a call center. The person pricing your car and the person who might pick up when you call are cut from the same cloth — someone who knows cars, not someone reading from a script. Ask an odd question about a lien or a salvage title and you’ll get a real answer, not a transfer.

Have something unusual? Send us a message and we will tell you honestly whether we can work with it.
